Sports: Cuban Rowers Give Good Performance at World Cup.
Havana.- Cuban rowers gave a meritorious performance at the World Rowing Cup, held in the city of Szeged, Hungary.
The Ibrahim Rojas-Ledi Frank Balceiro pair won the C-2 1,000-meter race, finished
third in the 500-meter competition and won a silver medal in the 200-meter race.
Add to this good performance three gold medals in the world phase held in Hansenwinkel,
Belgium, in May.
In the 1,000-meter race, Rojas and Balceiro clocked 3.35,141 minutes, followed
by Kozmann-Kolonics (3.36,551), from Hungary, and Sliwinski-Woszczynsk (3.38,321),
from Poland.
In the 200-meter competition, they clock 36.08,65 seconds, after Fuksa-Netusil
(36.07,21), from the Czech Republic, and before Kovak-Bozsik (37.04,53), from
Hungary.
For his part, Karel Aguilar was eliminated at the A finals in the 1,000-meter
race in the single category, finished in the tenth position in the 500-meter
competition, and eighth in the 200-meter race.
