The Vienna-based Alliance for Nature will back up the restoration of the Palacio Viena Hotel, in Old Havana, one of the oldest buildings in the city's historic heart.

According to experts from Alliance from Nature, the project will be presented in Havana in early June, during the next congress on cultural heritage.

In the future, the hotel will house several cultural institutions, as well as a Vienna-style café that, along with an Austrian brewery across the street, are expected to attract visitors.

The initiative is supported by the Cuban ambassador in Vienna, José Ramón Cabañas, as well as Austria's ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs.
